UN Geneva and IISD Affirm Continued Support for SDG Lab

On February 23, the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG) and the International Institute of Sustainable Development (IISD) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to continue their support for the SDG Lab and its associated activities aimed at promoting and nurturing a networked and community approach to collaboration for the Sustainable Development Goals.

IISD partners with the SDG Lab in convening the Geneva SDG Community, a dynamic network of individuals operating in the Geneva ecosystem to advance the goals globally.

“The SDG Lab is a recognized champion of purpose-driven community making, convening, and incubating innovative partnerships for the SDGs,” said Nathalie Bernasconi-Osterwalder, IISD Europe’s Executive Director.

“At IISD, we recognize that solutions to implement the SDGs can only flourish when we act together. Signing this MoU with UN Geneva, we renew our joint efforts in further strengthening the SDG Lab. This partnership gives us a pathway to share ideas and a community where solutions can be tested, adjusted, reformed, and brought to their full potential.”

Özge Aydogan, the SDG Lab’s Director, thanked IISD for their continued support as the Lab enters its sixth year of existence. “In this critical decade of action, we will continue to support stakeholders in finding and applying innovative solutions for the 2030 Agenda, by emphasizing the systemic nature and inter-connectedness of the SDGs."
